Long time no see

Been a while since I've updated. What have I been doing? Staying home with the baby and looking for a job. It's a lot more work than you would think.

I really need to update the way this blog looks, it's so boring. I need to be more creative.

As for Android, I'm currently running Sapphire 1.1.1 with Incognito theme. It's my favorite look so far.

Simply Stunning 4

After installing multiple 2.2 ROMs, I think I have finally found my favorite.  Simply Stunning 4 looks great and is VERY fast. It has a smoked glass theme with blue highlights. The one issue I've noticed is that as the battery drains the image does not reflect that, only the percentage.

One picture for now,  more to come later.

I love Froyo!

Ladies and gentlemen, I am now running Android 2.2 on my Motorola Droid! And do you know what comes with froyo? That's right, FLASH, baby! And what does Flash support mean? It means I can watch Hulu from my phone! It also has a new launcher, 5 home screens, the ability to auto-update apps from the market, and JIT support which makes it run much faster.

If you're interested in taking the plunge you can check out www.droid-life.com for all the information you need to get some delicious froyo.

Images will follow when I have time.

The Adventures of Willy Beamish

I finally remembered the name of this game! I've been trying to remember for years, and all of a sudden it just came to me yesterday. When I was a kid I used to go to my neighbor's house and play this old DOS game, and after all these years it's still fun. If you've ever played any of those "escape from the room" games on the internet it's kind of like that, except a full game. You're a kid who collects things in his backpack and use them to get out of certain situations as the story progresses. You have a trouble meter, and the more of a little nuisance you are the higher the meter goes until you get shipped off to military school.

You can download it at this page. You will probably need something like DosBox to run it, which you can get from dosbox.com.

Not what you remember...

I've been building a collection of alternate art styles and character mismatches for different characters and stories. Take a look, you'll understand what I mean once you've seen them. If you have any others please share!

Blue Energy Theme by roberj13

I've been using the Blue Energy Theme by roberj13 for several days now, and I must say I'm very impressed. The notification icons for everything are all custom images, and everything has a nice blue tint to it. With a little customization by using your own widgets this thing is beautiful. Originally it was released as a full ROM, which is what I'm running (screen caps below), but now is available as a theme to go over CyanogenMod or Bugless Beast. Make sure to check out the running thread over at droidforums here.

Steam by MrBobrowitz

I just recently flashed the Steam rom by MrBobrowitz to my Droid.  This is definitely one of the fastest and most stable ROMs I have used so far. It runs incredibly fast and very smoothly without getting too hot (mine is overclocked to 1Ghz ).  The only complaint I've had so far is that I can't get the text color for the notifications to change, and I'm not sure if that is a problem with the ROM itself or with Spare Parts.

Overall though this has been a pretty great experience.  If you want to give it a shot you can grab it in ROM Manager.

I have no idea...

I don't know what this is supposed to be or where it came from, but I want one.

CyanogenMod 5.0.7

It's finally here! CyanogenMod 5.0.7 for the Motorola Droid has been released! Now I'm just waiting for Energy ROM themed CM to be released, it's really looks nice.

Here's a link to the current Energy ROM thread on droidforums. Right now it's based on the Test1 build of 5.0.7, but it should be updated to the stable version soon. Take a look at the screen caps. Pretty nice, eh?

Google TV

At Google I/O they announced Google TV. Very cool concept, and I have to admit it leaves me pretty excited. Of course it's success will all depend on how well it integrates with standard tv and cable services, as well as manufactures support for it. The latter doesn't seem like it will be a problem though, judging from their list of current partners. Check out the link below (with video!) for more info.

Once upon a time...

Ahh, my first post. On this blog you will find a collection of things, including, but not limited to: videos, pictures, art, useless and possibly incoherent ramblings, links to things that may make little or no sense but that I find amusing, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time. If you enjoy it, great! If not, why are you here in the first place?

And finally, what better to get us started than with a nice story. And yes, this is just text in a .jpg format. Deal with it.
